April Laliberte

Even before April’s yoga practice started she was practicing energy work through the means of Reiki.  Reiki is an energy tool that uses the palms of your hands to channel life force to any object.  Any living thing, and even mechanical objects thrive from the extra energy that Reiki offers–if you look at aging that’s exactly what’s missing is the ability to absorb the energy necessary to keep you youthful.  April has been a Reiki practitioner since July 1998 and has been using it ever since.  She became a Reiki Master in 2008.

April has been practicing yoga since her first experience at Kripalu in Lennox, MA in the fall of 1998.  She was hooked and continued during her pregnancy with her daughter.  Trying everything from Hatha, to Gentle Yoga, Danskinetics, to yoga CD’s with Rodney Yee and Patricia Walden, she finally found her way to Anuara Yoga.

April moved to Flagstaff, AZ in 2005 and started her very dedicated Anusara yoga practice during this time.  By 2009 April was teaching her first yoga class and has continued teaching in person and online ever since.  Finally, after moving to the Boulder, CO area, April took all three Anusara Immersions and her 200 hour Teacher Training with Jeanie Manchester in 2013.  This was at the tail end of Anusara’s teardown and re-emergence.

In 2016 April completed her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Jeanie Manchester and Patrick Montgomery, well-known and respected teachers in the Boulder, CO area.

Today, April teaches her own style of yoga that she calls Energy Infused Yoga.  Energy Infused Yoga combines the wisdom of Hatha Yoga and Anusara’s near therapeutic alignment, and the power and strength of Astanga Yoga and blends them into a flowing vinyasa class.  It also is a full spectrum class meaning it includes asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork) and meditation also but adds a very important energetic component that is largely missing in today’s yoga.  The energetic aspect is an advanced practice that brings conscious awareness of our divine nature into the yoga practice.  The energy work is usually practiced through sacred sound, chanting, lead meditation, and other time-tested methods.

April believes that since we are energy, we should learn how to properly align ourselves with the energetic vibration of that which we want to create.  She folds her experience and her studies of energy into her yoga classes in order to empower others to radically change their lives for the better.
